Miles couldn't help but laugh to himself when Art mentioned food. Actually, the prospect of food didn't sound too bad, he hadn't eaten since early that morning when Art dragged him out into the snow for a run before the sun was all the way up. His stomach growled quietly at the thought, and Miles took his seat right behind Art, but it appeared that he and Teagan were on the same wavelength, although Teagan was surely in it for the fun.
"Yuki made you eat....what?" Miles asked in disbelief. Teagan had always complained about Yuki's cooking, but he had never actually asked about any of the concoctions. "Okay, Art, let's take her to the place just up the street over here, I'm dying for some food, too," he said truthfully, pulling out his phone and checking for messages, and then pulling out his modified handheld, and checking his computer systems. The team had always marveled in his technological abilities, but at the moment they were too distracted to care.

The corner’s of Art’s mouth twitched upward at Teagan’s hopefully fake description of what Yuki tried to make her faction. Okay, so the only functioning ones were in on making life hell for the team. He was suddenly a little thankful he wasn’t on the team anymore. Made it more difficult to prank him back, which they would try to do if they couldn’t get Teagan back. Then again she was probably safe for being a girl and Art knew how to avoid being pranked rather easily. He’d have to tell Miles to watch out later. “That’s nothing compared to what tries to make me eat. Glucose free, vegan poptarts. Don’t sound bad? Well the taste makes up for that,” He chuckled a bit. Was it salt on the team’s wounds? Sure. Would they have done it to him? Hell ya. He pulled off the road and navigated his way to the nearest drive thru. “Pick whatever you guys want,” He smiled and tapped Eric’s wallet on his lap. The kid always left it under the radio and whoever was driving used it pay for food. Hopefully he wouldn’t get pissy about him using it this time.

"Yeah. Chew on that thought for a moment," Teagan sent a meaningful look back to Miles. Whatever his imagination came up with to try and recreate the feeling she had whenever Yuki called them in for dinner would miss by a long shot. The car jumbled along on the icy road, the cries in from the back interrupted every few seconds by an unpleasant sounding burp. Suddenly it didn't matter anymore that Deacon had ruined her opportunity to mix the solution in Aiden's drink; this was a million times more amusing. And on top of that? She had two people to share it with her.
She shook her head at Art's description. "Nah, still not as bad as the time Yuki fried worms and applesauce in the middle of a pack of Ramon noodles. I don't know if anyone will be able to top that. Not many can boast that the health department considers them a regular pit stop."
Teagan wasn't kidding.
The younger Hunters ended up being the only people to order food during that trip, taking great care to eat the meal slowly on the ride back to the Wesson. Faint cries of joy emanated behind her once the van came to a stop, all occupants exiting rather quickly.
Teagan stood between Miles and Art on the sidewalk, rubbing her cold arms as she watched the barely functioning team each return to their car and start the long trek home. Satisfaction was etched all over her face, and she gave a nod of approval to the boys. "And that's how it's done."
"Now let's get inside before they figure out that what happened."
[End.]
