Even with her trying to ameliorate the situation by explaining that what she had meant had been something else entirely, Miles still wasn't having it. It was a dead body! Dead! He looked from Teagan to the body, his eyes on the pale skin of the man, drained of blood and color, as well as organs and tissues, no doubt. Miles was well aware that they even stuck needles in dead people's eyes during the autopsy, and that image was slightly unnerving as well.
"Teagan, I've got a few words for you: Cold. Clammy. Lack of blood. Bodily excretions. Zombies, because you and I both know those are real," he said, giving her a dead serious look. "Metal rod or not, I am not touching that thing!" he hissed, throwing his finger in the direction of the body. He would have naturally yelled the last bit, but he knew they were trying to keep a cover going, and yelling would attract attention.
They were going to find a weapon now. For a moment, Miles imagined what he could use to chop off the head of a vampire...and then the image struck him. Him, geeky Miles, cutting off the head of a person? Could he even do that? He could always just give the weapon to Teagan...
"We're going to need something sharp enough to cut through the spine," he said, going over the schematics of the neck in his mind. Otherwise it was all flesh, and that was easy enough to cut through. "What about a bone saw? I'm sure they've got a few in here somewhere," Miles said, trying to ignore their earlier conversation. He pulled open a drawer and shifted through it before returning it to its previous state. "I know some are wireless, they run on a charge to make it easier on the user," he mused to himself.
He pulled another drawer open, yielding nothing. "Find anything that'll work yet?" Miles asked, before pausing and falling silent instantly. He wasn't imagining it; there were steps coming towards them. Without wasting much more than a second, he grabbed Teagan by the arm, and pulled her into a small cabinet made for holding hoses and scrubs.

Teagan internally cringed at Miles' reaction, wincing as he waved his hand about in a frustrated manner. This was no way at all what she had intended, and hadn't her apology made that clear? With his height, the chastening felt harsher and she had to resist nervously rubbing her leg. A leader didn't openly allow others to see nervousness. And no one let a trainee see that.
Forget the awkward talk. There was a vampire lurking somewhere that they needed to catch.
"A bone saw is a fantastic idea. Too bad radiation wouldn't do anything. It'd be easy to lure it into a trap down here," Teagan murmured, eying an x-ray machine in the far corner of the room. Shrugging off the concept -though noting it for another day- she knelt down next to a small portable table that held numerous objects with the ability to pierce skin. Nothing was the right size though; everything on the stand was made for delicate movements.
Precise and worthless.
"Nope," Teagan shook her head in response to the question. "Looking like a complete waste of t-" A sound reached her ears, one that would be counted as impossible when surrounded by the dead. She fell silent. Footsteps. Her eyes immediately started scanning the room for the best place to hide. Under the desk was idiotic. That scam only worked in theaters. Perhaps they could pretend to hide among the dead? It couldn't be that hard to climb into one of the body bags and-
Miles grabbed her arm, effectively cutting of her train of thought as he pulled them into a closet. She clenched her hands tightly around one of the cold hoses, trying to silence her pounding heart. Kudos for the spot, Teagan mentally added a point for Miles. She couldn't even imagine how long it would have taken to convince Miles that hiding among the dead was a good idea.

Miles glanced at the area for x-rays. "Yeah, for some reason I don't think that'll work," he confirmed, resuming his search in a couple cabinets that lined the wall on one side of the room. Seriously, they had to be somewhere around here, right? How could they do an autopsy without one? He frowned at the closet full of scrubs and hoses, closing the door and pulling open a drawer. Nothing. He grumbled to himself when he heard the footsteps.
In seconds he was shoved with Teagan in the closet, holding his breath. He looked straight at the doors, hoping that they wouldn't need some replacement hose and find two kids standing there. That wouldn't go over well, in his book. They needed an out. But how, there was only one way out of the room? He wasn't anywhere near the intercom system to tap into it. All they could do was wait, and who knew how long that'd be!
Slowly and as quietly as possible, he pulled his phone out from his pocket, and shielded the light. He opened up a blank text, and began typing away. After a moment, he showed it to Teagan.
Any ideas because I don't have any. Rather not be stuck in here for a couple hours.

Her eyes quickly scanned the text and silently agreed with Miles. Stuck in the closet for a couple hours sounded more like a bad nightmare than anything else. She bit her lip, trying to come up with a way out of the situation. Outside of the door, someone walked around, the soles of their shoe softly sliding against the floor. Yeah, no way of moving until that person left. Hopefully the emergency upstairs would somehow trickle through all of the floors and cause a big enough distraction for the duo to disappear as soon as possible.
Until then, they would have to stay quiet. She silently took the phone from Miles and typed out a response.
Can't do anything yet. Keep calm and don't move.
She held her breathe, praying the footsteps would stop growing louder and simply pass by as they had two times before. Of course, fate never did seem to be on her side. For a moment, the entire room was dead silent.
A second later her eyes were blinded as the door flew open and a large, cold hand wrapped around her neck.
"Hello again, little one," it rasped in a low, deep voice.
Teagan tried breaking free, but her eyes were still adjusting to the light and she couldn't quite make out the form of the figure who clenched her tight. "Lemme go!" A well-aimed punch was instantly intercepted and forced down to her side. She squirmed at the man's (a man, she could now tell) arm wrapped around her waist, drawing her closer to him. This couldn't end well, she mentally muttered to herself.
Teagan never saw it coming.
One second she stood pinned to the side of the stranger, and the next she stood outside of the room, ready to puke from dizziness evoked by the speed of which he had jolted from the morgue. With long strides and a sickening pace he bolted down the hallway, moving so fast she could barely make out the doors or people passing by.
All but one face.
"Adrian! Help!"

Teagan wanted to stay there, stay silent. Fine by him. Imagine falling out of the small closet into the path of a doctor, and trying to explain how they ended up in the morgue. Not even a prankster and a computer genius could come up with a plausible explanation for that which wouldn't get them in trouble. So he instead took in a silent breath, ready to ride out the wait in the darkness with nothing but a phone. Note to self: upgrade phone's hacking abilities. he thought to himself.
Then the room fell silent, but Miles could see the shadow of the person outside of the doors. Did they hear them? Miles froze, his eyes locked on the shadow. Then it was there, in front of them. The fluorescent lights behind them masked their identity from the hunters, and his hand was firmly planted on Teagan's neck. She threw a punch that was quickly stopped, and Miles decided that he might be able to knock the person over. Just as he launched himself at the man's legs, he was gone. He rolled along the floor, groaning in pain. Tile floors and misjudged tackling didn't mix well.
"Teagan...Teagan!" he said loudly, realizing that the man made off with her. He scrambled up and around the corner, pausing at the doorway to see which way they went. A flash of Teagan's jacket disappeared to his right, so he scrambled down the hallway, his worn out sneakers not having very much traction on the tile flooring. His running with Art was proving helpful, because even though this guy was keeping a decent pace, so was Miles, and Miles was without the extra weight.
He heard Teagan yell something, and Miles connected the name with the face as he slowed down. Adrian was standing there, clearly confused by this point, so Miles came up with a split second decision. Adrian surely had a weapon, right? "Vampire has Teagan," he breathed. "Gonna find a computer. You go find her." Then he glanced at the hall, and retraced his steps. In a few minutes he found a server room, an intricate working of wires and electronics. In the center of the room was a computer, one of the few masters the hospital would have.
He sat down behind the computer, brought up the run command, and then typed in a few commands to bring up the programs he needed. He was going to be the unlikely hero of this whole ordeal. With a few clicks, the automatic doors of the bottom five floors were now locked down, which would trap the vampire, and consequently Teagan. It would make it much easier to hunt him, now they just needed a weapon. Next he pulled up the security system, and was pleased when he realized that he could activate the speaker system on specific floors.
"You have nowhere to run," he called into the microphone. "You're locked in. Let her go and consider your death quick and painless." He pulled up a schematic of the building, and his eyes quickly flew over all of the symbols. By law they would have to mark all the fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and in a building like this, there were bound to be other tools. He was hoping for an ax, but there weren't any. However, there was an entrance to the parking garage where there were spare ambulances, parked and sitting there, along with a firetruck. according to the camera. Miles unlocked the door, and then ran out of the room.
The firetruck would have the weapon he needed. He sped down the hall, trying not to knock over any of the medical supplies. His breathing was now growing ragged by now, and he could only hope that Adrian was with Teagan. He got to the door, ran over to the firetruck, and tried the handle. Locked. "Crap, crap, crap. Okay, think." He looked around his surroundings, and pulled out his phone in the process. "Yuki? Please tell me you're in the hospital. We need you." He hung up, and sprinted over to the wall across from him, feeling his muscles protesting the action. He pulled the fire extinguisher off of the wall, and returned to the truck.

By the time Yuki exited the car, Adrian was no where in sight. She must've sat there contemplating her leave much longer than she thought. Had he already entered the hospital? She trudged through the snow, pulling up her scarf to cover her nose. The hospital was a decent-sized building, much like any other hospital. Concrete walls, a few plants outside, though the fact that it was winter made it so that only a few tufts of grass and bare trees were visible.
How the hell had he gotten in so fast? They didn't exactly park up close to the front--precautionary measures in case a monster decided to make its escape using their vehicle. What if he had heard or seen something and rushed in to help while she was still in the car? Yuki quickened her pace towards the hospital doors, and when she was finally standing in front of them, to her surprise, they didn't open. What the hell? she muttered, peering through the glass of the automatic doors. The lobby was empty. The hospital wasn't supposed to close right now, it was still relatively early in the afternoon...
Whatever was happening, it couldn't be good. Locked doors when they weren't supposed to be locked were never a result of faulty electrical wiring or malfunctioning sensors. Not in this world.
Just as she was about to call Teagan, her phone lit up, indicating a call. Miles? She answered it and heard the boy's exasperated voice through the speaker. "Miles, I'm locked out. What's going on?!" she demanded. "I will try and find a way in, but until then, you keep that vampire away from both of you and any of the patients and employees. Kill it if you must. I'll call Aiden for back-up, but if you can't handle that thing, call me and let it out. I'll take care of it myself." At the click of the dial, she drew out her gun and called Aiden, all the while searching for an alternative way into the hospital. Glass was bullet-proof. Breaking in through a window wasn't an option, and it wasn't like she had explosives to just blow up a chunk of the wall. But surely there was an emergency exit that could be operated manually. But where?
The phone rung a few times, and Yuki cursed under her breath. Come on, Aiden, pick up the phone, pick up the phone. "Aiden, we are at the local hospital. Assistance is needed at this point--I'm locked out, and everyone else is inside with a vampire. Get over here immediately." Yukk hung up, continuing her run of the building.
All entrances were locked, but she did find a manual door towards the back. Naturally, it was locked too, but at least this one wasn't electrically operated. All she had to do was pick the lock or kick it down. And she was prepared to do both if necessary.
