Jefferson knew Yuki wouldn't believe him. He hated trying to make her believe, but if she's in this mess, then it had to be for a reason. Aiden tried to help, but he didn't think it would do them any good. The cold was starting to settle in even more on Jefferson. He needed to get out of this fridge, or he would go insane. The cold wasn't what made Jefferson lose his temper. Aiden had shown him the message from Casey.
"Damn it. Aiden, I don't know how far Hill City is from here, but I do know that it isn't far enough. Come on let's go," He looked over at Yuki. "Your coming too, whether you like it or not. Grab your stuff and let's go." He opened the door for both of them, and waited for them to go out the door. He truly hated Casey at the moment.

"Are you deranged?!" Yuki called out furiously, and then followed him, the heels of her boots making such a loud noise that she felt as if the floorboards were going to give way. First, this Jefferseon spewed nonsense about "supernatural" happenings, and now this Aiden, Jefferson's supposed "partner," (a mere child, in comparison), had agreed with him and questioned when the last time was that Yuki had seen her motheralive?
Before the bartender had a chance to respond, Yuki turned Aiden forcefully by the shoulder, put her hands to her side, and stared at him intently with a frigid glare. "I don't know what's going on, but if you are implying that my mother is dead, the last time I saw her was last summer, but she has been in contact with me throughout the year, so you can dispatch your little theory." Backing away from him, Yuki turned to face the door of the tavern and crossed her arms. She bit her lip in thought. If she walked out now, where would she go? There was no way to contact her mother. She couldn't go back to Japan as if nothing had happened. And there was still the fact that she had no idea who Sam and Dean were, or Casey for that matter. Even if they were neurotic of the mind, they were the only ones with answers. And her mother had told her to speak to Jefferson, afterall...
"While I am extremely, and let me restate that to ensure emphasis, extremely doubtful of your claims, let's just say I gave you the benefit of the doubt." Yuki turned around with a determined stance. "If I did, would I find my mother?"

Why, why, why the strange things always happened to him, he didn't know. He was chosen for some leadership role, he was expected to teach others how to hunt, expected to save the world while Sam and Dean were gone, expected to be a child by Jeff while he was supposed to be an adult in the real world. And now they had to run to some other city, with newcomer Yuki, in order to kill something while trying to figure out what was up with her mother. Just another day in the park? Aiden thought not as he exited the freezer, and moved into the bar. Hill City, he'd never heard of it, but if it was in South Dakota, Deacon was bound to know. He headed for the bartender, but was stopped by a rather forceful hand on his shoulder.
He half expected it to be Jeff, telling him to be sure to bring this weapon, or to move faster, or something, but he was met by Yuki's hazel eyes. He looked down at her, she was not happy with his theory that her mother might be in toruble. Still, it was always a possibility, always, and it needed to be taken into consideration. "Okay, so, she's been talking to you, and there hasn't been anything to cause alarm thus far, right? That's a good sign, but you also said that she'd meet you in a hotel, but wasn't there? Did she leave anything behind besides the letter?" Accepting the idea that this thing could have her mother would be difficult, but any clue would help.
He gave her a sincere smile, and a curt nod. "Yes, you'll find her. If not in Hill City, then somewhere else, but you'll find her," he said. He felt kind of bad for her; he knew the feeling of having your parents in the clutches of evil, even killed by it. "And if she's not there, I'll help you find her," he said, in a moment of kindness before he was over at the counter, looking through a large map. "Its not far from here, maybe twenty minutes or so. We'll take my car," he said, pulling out his keys. Finally, a chance to get away from this place for the day.

Jefferson had left Aiden and Yuki alone together. He had to go to his car to study the map. He focused on South Dakota, and studied it until he found Hill City. It seemed to be thirty minutes away from Keystone. This was good enough for him. Returning to the bar with the map, Jefferson heard Aiden say they would take his car.
"Fine by me. I get shotgun. We should leave and get this over with ASAP. I know where Hill City is now, it's thirty minutes to the east. Lucky us." Jefferson headed towards the door again. He held the door open, and waved good bye to Deacon. They had just finished one hunt and were already after another. This time with an inexperienced woman. He just hoped they could finish this in one piece. He could barely help out Aiden, and now he had to keep an eye on someone who didn't believe them. Jefferson couldn't help but wonder how things could get any worse.
"Yuki, you need to know the rules for this. Number one: Listen to whatever Aiden and I tell you to do, no question's asked. Number two: If you think you can do somethin, don't do it. We need you to be 100% sure that you can do it. Number three: Don't freak out. I hate that, and I'm guessing Aiden does too. All right that's it. Let's leave."

Yuki didn't respond to Aiden's words, nodding silently instead when he finished. She didn't know what to think about what was happening, nor was she sure if she should be thanking him or calling him crazy. All she wanted to do was find her mother, or at least know she was safe, and then return to Japan. If she had to go with the existence of the "supernatural" in order to locate her, then so be it. She woud play along for now, but until she saw physical evidence, she would not believe a thing.
As they were heading out of the tavern, Jefferson spoke to her in an attempt to establish rules. She was prepared to snap at him for his condescending tone, but dismissed the urge. "Rest assured, I shall not lose composure. If you believe that fear may consume my senses, you are sadly mistaken," Yuki told Jefferson defensively as she followed him outside the tavern. It was one thing to try and restrain her with rules, but another to imply that she wa emotionally weak.
As she followed, Yuki wondered how she had gotten mixed up in this situation in the first place. Yesterday, she had been at the temple, giving advice to villagers about crops. Now, she was in a completely foreign country, being led by two shady men whom she had known for no more than twenty minutes, to chase after who-knows-what so that she could find her mysteriously missing mother. Ordinarily, if she had been sent on this crazy mission by anyone else, she would have walked out of that tavern after the lovely conversation that had taken place inside the freezer. In fact, she probably wouldn't have come to that filthy bar at all.
But unfortunately, her mother's wishes were far too important to be ignored, for there was no one in the world whom Yuki respected more. With a deep breath, she followed Jefferson and Aiden in a resigned manner, ready for whatever would be in store for them in Hill City.

With an electronic click, the doors to his car unlocked. He slid in quickly, clearing things away and to the side (after all, he hadn't expected to be driving anyone around while he was there, seeing as Jeff had his own car.) When he finished, he put the key in the ignition, sending out a wave of cold air, and very loud rock music, which he promptly turned down with a cheesy grin. "Sorry 'bout that," he said quickly, looking back at Yuki. "Can't help but get my rock fix." He waited for Jeff, and while doing so pulled out his small, portable GPS. He punched in the address, checking his phone for confirmation, and once it was all set and ready, he zipped backwards away from the bar, and off onto the road, the engine of his new Camaro purring. The sound always made him smirk.
"Put the map away, old man, we smart kids use technology now," he teased as he turned onto the freeway. The car sped up, smooth and quiet from the inside, but Aiden knew that his engine told otherwise to passer-bys. After a couple minutes of thinking, Aiden glanced up into the rear-view, and looked at Yuki. "Listen, I honestly don't know if your mother is going to be there. We were called to Keystone by someone named Casey; we haven't seen the guy, but he's giving us jobs--tips on where monsters are--and we're supposed to help while these other famous hunters are M.I.A. If your mother isn't there...well, this guy Casey seems to know a lot, so maybe I can try contacting him and see what's up." One of the reasons Aiden stayed a hunter was he knew the pain of losing his parents, and it was horrible, beyond anything he'd ever felt. He couldn't stand to have that happen to others.
Covering the distance much faster than half an hour, they arrived in Hill City, and following the directions of the GPS, finally arrived at their destination. From the immediate looks of things, there wasn't anything going on. He got out, killing the engine, and walked around to the trunk. He pressed the out of view button, and the panels moved to display an array of guns, charms, paints, gas containers, lighters, amulets, chalk, salt, ammo, and a number of other things. He pulled out a sawed-off shotgun, loaded with rock salt, and closed the trunk. "Ok Yuki, here's the deal; we don't know whats here, and once we do, I might need more than salt to kill it. If that's the case, I need you to come back out here, get what I tell you to, and bring it back. Got it?"

Jefferson laughed at Aiden's remark about his map. He forgot all about the new electronic equipments of their time. He really didn't trust the technology, the map seemed more reliable to him. Plus, he didn't need to waste money and a small device, no matter how great it was on giving directions. He folded the map away, and hid it in his pocket. He kept silent for the rest of the car trip.
They arrived at their destination, earlier then he expected. Looking around Hill City, everything seemed to be quiet. Wating for Aiden to stop talking, Jefferson loaded his gun with salt bullets. First silver, now salt. The job of a hunter is neve finished. Aiden finished talking, and Jeferson walked over to their destination. It looked like an old, run down house, with not much going on. Not waiting for Aiden to catch up, Jefferson headed towards the door, he reached for the knob and turned it. He realized that it was lock. That seemed strange, especially since the house looked like no one has lived inside of it for many years. Jefferson headed back towards Aiden and Yuki.
"All right, people actually live in that dump. I don't think they're home right now seeing as the door is lock. What do you say we break into the house?" Jefferson said smiling. He couldn't believe he was enjoying this.

The house was dark and broken but it was home. Not to any person that could hold the rights or pay a mortgage. It was home to the owner of twenty years who refused to leave even after death. It would wander the halls and over the decades had faded only scaring the occasional tenant. Now it’s home was under attack. They wanted to tear it down. They wanted to smash it into bits. It wasn't going to let them. It was going to stop them. If it had to it was going to kill them. Just like the man from the city who fell and broke his neck. They didn’t see it but IT did it. From the windows it saw more of them coming. Three, a man, a woman and a younger man. It was going to keep them away. It sped down and locked all the doors and windows before they were even out of the car. It wasn’t going to let them in.

Yuki sat quietly throughout the car trip. Her mind was racing. Every muscle in her body told her this was wrong and that she should get out of the car. Unfortunately, her brain directed otherwise and commanded that she remain within the vehicle.
Aiden turned to speak and told her about Casey. If they had not met this person, why were they trusting him? Then again, Jefferson and Aiden were practically strangers to her, and yet here she was. As he proceeded to explain that her mother may not be at the place they were headed, Yuki nodded in understanding. She knew it wouldn't be simple to locate her mother after all that had happened.
As they pulled up into an old house and they got out of the car, the two men headed towards the trunk. Yuki's eyes widened as she saw them holding weapons. Jefferson headed towards the house as Aiden remained loading a gun. "I understand, but a brief run down of the weaposn inside the trunk will be needed in order for me to obtain each respective weapon correctly, should that be the case."
She looked idly at the run down home as Jefferson came back saying that the doors were locked and suggested a break in. A chill ran icily down her spine. From the window, she thought she had caught someone staring back at her, but after a couple blinks, the person was gone. A bit startled, her eyes narrowed to make sure there wasn't really anyone there, but as far as she could see, the house was empty. Averting her attention once more to the two men, she shrugged it off. It was probably just the result of her exhaustion. It wasn't every day you were dragged to the other side of the world and had someone tell you that beings of "supernatural" nature existed.

The house looked old and abandoned, and Aiden knew that it would be like many other jobs he had taken in the general area of Oregon. It would be simple, quick, and hopefully soon after they entered the house, they would know what they were up against. Sometimes that was the hardest part of a job; not knowing the enemy meant that you needed to be prepared for anything, which was what he was doing by prepping weapons in his trunk. If it was a ghost, he would have something to kill it. If it was a demon, he could exorcise it. If it was a vampire, he had the tools to behead it. He glanced at Yuki, and shook his head. "I can't really do that all in the limited time we have. I'll tell you what and how when we figure out what this is. That's why I'm preparing a bit of everything...like, to kill a vampire, you behead it. If this is a werewolf, we can kill it with a silver bullet from this gun here. But like I said, we won't know until we get in there."
He pulled a large, black bag out with a white drawstring, weighing a few pounds. He tossed it to Yuki, and then pulled a shotgun out, loaded with rock salt. "Alright, that in your hands is salt; its like a supernatural cure-all, it'll ward off most creatures. If we need to use it, I'll tell you where to make a salt line," he explained. He turned to Jeff, who suggested they break in the house. "Alright, I'll take Yuki inside, and you keep watch for anything outside." He grabbed a lock-pick kit, and then gave Yuki a smirk before walking up the rickety steps and glancing around. He knelt down, examining the lock, and then picking out two small rods, and inserting them into the lock, moving them ever so slightly until there was a small click. "Just like that, clockwork," he mumbled, and then let the door swing open.
Immediately the smell of dust and mold wafted out of the door, and Aiden drew his gun up. He took the first step in, watching the doorways, the cielings, anything that might give any hint as to what they were going to be fighting. He looked at the pictures lining the walls, cracked glass covering the face of a bearded man, in front of a shoe shop. He studied the face, and then glanced back at Yuki. "When you're on a job, you want to know who owned the house; its usually the perp. most cases we have to burn the bo--" He was but off as the rung beneath him slipped beneath his feet and wrapped around him, the bearded man appearing at the end of the hall, a stoic look on his face.

As they approached the door, Yuki felt as if there was a looming presence around them; gravity seemed to push down on her from the sky above. She couldn't shake the sense that something wasn't right about what they were doing, aside from the fact that they were breaking into someone's house. She had noted Aiden's lock-picking kit and the ease with which he opened the door. Obviously, he had done this several times before. If he was capable of avoiding legal punishment to this point, then he was probably experienced at covering his tracks as well. Yuki wasn't sure whether that was a good or bad thing at this point. As a matter of fact, she wasn't sure about anything anymore. Why she was blindly following these two men, and why she was complying to their orders was beyond her. Perhaps her faith was based upon the fact that her mother had entrusted her to Jefferson for the time being, and so even if the situation seemed pointlessly dangerous, she would end up listening to them despite her complaints and hesitations.
Arms folded in an attempt to keep her cold body warm, Yuki walked cautiously through the front door. Immediately, she wrinkled her nose at the smell--whoever inhabited this house had not been in it for quite some time. As she examined the room, Aiden stopped in front of the pictures lined hanging on the wall. Curious as to what he was looking at, Yuki approached them as well. Aiden seemed to be directing his sight at one particular picture, however. As she got closer to it, the eyes of an old man stared back at her from behind the glass and she shuddered. Those eyes...they were familiar. But they couldn't be. Shaking the notion, her eyes focused on what else was in the photo. He was standing in front of a shop. A shoe shop of sorts, if she wasn't mistaken. Aiden spoke, explaining that it was important to know who the owner of the house was, but suddenly, he was cut off.
The next thing she knew, Aiden was on the floor. Yuki looked around in alarm to see who was there, and she saw him--the man from the pictures--standing in the hall. How had he walked in? She did not hear any noise upon his entrance. And how had he caused Aiden to fall if he was on the other end of the hall?
She impulsively reached for the rock salt gun Aiden had given her and tightened her grip around the handle. She had never fired a gun before, nor did she want to at the moment, unless it was completely necessary. She let her left hand clench the weapon, but did not pull it out. No need to alarm the man who had walked in. Yuki didn't know if they were there to eliminate him, or someone else.
"Who are you?" Yuki demanded, gun at the ready.

Being knocked off your feet and the wrapped up like a burrito by a roll of carpet always took a person by surprise. Aiden hit the ground hard, luckily keeping his head off the ground to avoid a concussion, but he was now immobilized; the roll of carpet trailed the length of the hallway, and it was actually pretty thick, so being wrapped up in it meant that he couldn't move his arms, and could barely move his legs. Yuki, however, was trained on the man at the end of the hall, which Aiden knew was a ghost. Yuki, however, having no experience, probably thought it was the owner of the house. Grunting inside of his berber cocoon, Aiden tried to free himself before Yuki got into trouble....he wondered if outside Jeff heard what was going on, and he wondered if that creep Casey knew too. In the end the wriggling proved useless, the ghost was holding him there, so he glanced up at Yuki.
The ghost didn't answer, didn't move. It only stood for a moment, staring at the two. Aiden was about to yell at her to shoot it when it flickered out of sight, though the carpet still didn't budge. Groaning, he continued to look at Yuki. "Try unrolling this, will you? If it doesn't work, go get the switchblade from the trunk. It's silver with a little symbol on the end of it," he explained. In the meantime, from his position on the floor, he looked around the house for anything strange. Just dust and dead bugs, some still alive, and that smell of abandonment. The kitchen didn't look like it would hold any clues, at least not from his perspective. Maybe once he was standing again he would be able to tell what was on the counter-tops, and what was in the cupboards...but if that ghost, or spirit, or poltergeist, or whatever it was was going to cause them trouble, it would be harder.

Yuki considered unrolling the rug, but decided she would retrieve the knife from the car instead--it could come in handy for later. With a curt nod towards Aiden, she made her way hastily outside. What was that thing? It had disappeared right before her eyes. Was he...a ghost? Surely she was hallucinating. As these thoughts passed her mind, she realized that whoever that guy was, if he had the ability to vanish like that, ghost or not, a knife probably wouldn't do much. Too late to go back now.
Opening the trunk, she searched for the knife Aiden had specified and grabbed it. As she made her way back, she realized Jefferson was no where in sight. Where could he have gone?
But at the moment, there were more pressing manners to attend. As she walked through the door, Aiden was still on the floor, restrained by the rug. Crouching down and pulling out the knife, she tore the thick carpeting straight down the middle with ease.

They were in the house. It didn’t like that that. It didn’t like them there, them talking about it’s home. So it fought back. First would be the young man. It was simple enough to take him by surprise. It was delighted by his struggling in the rug. It remembered the old pictures with the man and his funny walk, sort of. The man was always in the worst situations but that man got out of them, this one would not. The woman left and at first it thought it’s home was safe. Then she came back with a knife. Anger boiled within it, feeling betrayed and wanting to be left alone. This was it’s home. As she started cutting the rug it lunged at her. With it’s focus on the woman, the force trapping the man was now only the rug itself.

Yuki disappeared, and Aiden could only take that to mean that she had left to go get the knife rather than try to unroll him herself. He couldn't blame her, that was the better idea, and as he sat struggling, if for some reason he could free himself, his mind jumped to two conclusions; angry spirit, or poltergeist. If the spirit was connected to the house due to something in the past, then the bones needed to be burned to end this. If it was a poltergeist that was trying to protect its house, then they needed hex bags. Materials for both methods were stored in the trunk of his car, but they needed some sort of peace time to be able to navigate through the house and either find a body, or get the hex bags in the walls.
When Yuki reappeared, he thought about warning her not to cut too deep, but he trusted her to cut him free, it wasn't like she was a complete novice. However, he saw the flash of movement from the other side, and glanced back at her. "Yuki, move!" he yelled, although he feared it was too late. He finished the tear in his bindings, splitting the carpet down the middle with a defining tearing noise, and then scrambled up, fishing the pistol loaded with rock salt out from the back of his jeans and bringing it up to aim at the monster, hoping that it hadn't pinned Yuki and that she wasn't in the line of fire.
