Name: Kiturian "Kit" Akrostik
Character(Hunter, Demon, Angel): Hunter
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Hometown: White Oak, New Jersey
Nationality: Caucasian
Description: Kiturian is not what one would call visually intimidating. Close to average height though still on the shorter end of the spectrum, she possess a relatively average body type. Not overly muscled or thin, and not overweight, but simply healthy. She has the right curves to make it clear she's of the feminine persuasion, though she has not been overly blessed in that department. Her skin is light in color, tanning a little with proper sunlight but never it seems enough to give her that golden glow magazines like to sell. Her skin is marked in a couple ways, by a small pair of steampunk style wings on the back of her neck and scar on her shoulder blade. Her eyes are brown in color usually seeming distant as though mentally she's not really around, and a sort of sarcastic cynicism shows especially when dealing with people who she finds annoying.
Kit is the type to never sit still, even when sitting. Drumming her fingers, tapping her foot or nodding her head in some way she likes to have some movement. She tends to enjoy standing or pacing even during conversations. When she walks, she moves with an easy grace. She tends to slouch slightly when walking around, hands shoved in her pockets unless she's in a hurry.
Kit has a simple style leaning towards the comfortable and casual. She dresses in mens clothing often, her favorite outfit is a simple pair of cargo pants and t-shirt with a sweater for colder weather. She typically wears a pair of black work boots. A pair of headphones typically rests around her neck or over her ears with the cord trailing to an mp3 player in her pocket. Around her neck she wears a long silver chain with a bloodstone on it in the shape of an upside-down drop an inch and a half in length. The sigil of Marchosias engraved into it.
Personality: Kiturian is a rather direct type of person. She will walk up to a stranger and start up a conversation, especially if there is an opportunity to learn. In terms of hunting however, at times her directness can get her into a bit of trouble. Kit is quite reactive, meaning when she notices something odd (such as a good majority of the supernatural entities), she goes to investigate immediately, rather than working out a plan, or hesitating from whatever it may be. When threatened, she moves to attack first rather than defend herself. Though at times this can be a useful reaction, it is rather dangerous, especially if whatever's threatening her is stronger than her.
Kit is also highly loyal and protective of the people she cares about. If someone needs help she is more than willing to do whatever she can to help them, be it loaning them twenty bucks or standing against a pack of hellhounds. Ironically despite her direct and open nature she doesn't make too many friends. Rather she merely chats with random people, but doesn't actually make any connections with them leaving them as nothing more than casual strangers. So the few people that she does connect with and like, she is dedicated to keeping safe.
When angry however, Kit's demeanor changes quite a bit. While some people may burn with fury Kit essentially turns to ice. Cold and apathetic, freezes, becoming unresponsive to emotional stimulant hiding behind an unfeeling mask. Fortunately it takes quite a while for her to become truly angry with anyone, though once she is she can remain distant for a while, or until the person has paid for whatever it is they did, after which point she often is more than willing to forgive and forget.
When working, Kit can work with a single-minded obsessiveness. She will at times forgo sleep and eating (not so much a deliberate act as simply forgetting to do so), in order to keep focusing on a task at hand. It can be the task of figuring out exactly what sort of monster is out there causing trouble, or where it might be and how to kill it, but no matter what the task at hand she will tear through every ounce of information she can get her hands on until she gets the answers she wants. At times she will resort to using the pendulum she wears to work out answers through simple yes-no questions.
At the end of the day, despite having chosen the path of the Hunter, Kit is still a teenager, and will often act as such. Life is meant to be enjoyed, and she looks for opportunities to have some fun, despite the nightmares of the world that exist around her.
Bio/History: To know Kiturian's history, one must first look at the history of her parents, specifically her father. Aleksander Akrostik had just proposed to his girlfriend of several years Karolina, and they planned to wed soon and begin a family. Karolina especially looked forward to having a family-being a parent was her greatest dream. They married in a joyous little ceremony and began to work on achieving that dream. However, something was wrong. Try as they might, Karolina did not get pregnant.
A visit to the doctor revealed nothing wrong with Karolina. Aleksander on the other hand learned upsetting news; he was incapable of bearing children. Terrified Karolina would leave him if she learned this, he began searching for a solution a way he could father a child and hid the information from his wife. An opportunity arrived in the form of a demon in the guise of a man who stopped to talk with Aleksander a few nights later. The man introduced himself as Zaniel, and told Aleksander he could ensure he would have a child, and it would cost him nothing-for ten years at least. Uncertain as to how anyone could promise such a thing, but willing to try anything, he agreed to the deal and within the month Karolina was pregnant.
Nine months later, Kiturian was born to her loving parents. She had no brothers or sisters of which to speak, but she was happy and life was good. Despite being a little spoiled, she never turned into a bratty child, something her parents were grateful for. She grew up living a normal and pleasant life, where all the demons and monsters of the world were nothing more than images in movies and books that could be put away and never hurt her.
This belief was changed quite drastically however, shortly after Kit had turned ten. The time for collection had come, and the demon Zaniel arrived to take his payment from her father. Kiturian and her mother returned home that evening after shopping to see Zaniel standing over the shredded corpse of Aleksander. Karolina froze in terror and attempted to shield the child from the site. Kit however, pulled away from her mother's grip and started towards Zaniel, yelling at him to get away from her daddy. Upon reaching him, she swung out to hit the demon. Of course this had little effect to do anything more than simply annoy Zaniel, who grabbed the young girl and toss her aside, her head hitting the wall. As he did, she tried to grab him, managing to grasp onto a chain that held the Marchosias pendulum that hung from his pocket, and pulling it with her as he threw her. Karolina unfroze then and went to protect her daughter from the strange man in their house. The last thing Kiturian saw before her vision went black and she passed out was a black-eyed man breaking her mother's neck.
When Kiturian woke, she was no longer home, but in a hospital. The police attempted to see if Kiturian could help them figure out what happened, but when she insisted that a scary black-eyed man had killed them, they told her she had simply imagined his eyes being black-after all humans did not have black eyes. To this, Kiturian reasoned that maybe he wasn't human, a theory that earned her sympathetic looks and disbelief from the cops and anyone else she told. Still she knew what she had seen, and she decided that she would figure out what had happened, and what really was out there.
Over the next several years, Kiturian spent her time shuffled through the foster care system living with several families, some nicer than others but none really all that terrible. Her desire to figure out what had happened that night never faded, and she worked to learn all she could about demons and other monsters that most people thought were nothing more than nightmares and fantasies. She slowly collected the information, putting it on a small website, feeling it would be best if more people had access to the information to learn what really existed in the world.
When she turned seventeen, she decided she had spent enough time just learning about what really was out there, and ran off from the foster family she'd been staying with. She had learned enough, and though there would always be more to learn, it was time to stop hiding behind books and start doing something about the monsters.
Rp Sample Kiturian sat on the back of the old beat-up pick up she drove around, head nodding idly to the music that pulsed through the headphones. Her legs were crossed and her laptop sat on her lap as she idly tapped the keys. It was a benefit of stopping in a residential area-all the homes meant there were plenty of opportunities to tap into someone else's wifi and get online. She muttered along with the lyrics as she typed, waiting for the pages to load. It was annoying some days when things took forever to load. Then again, she was multi-tasking a bit, trying to add a bit more information to her own site, listening to music, checking email, and downloading at the same time so the lack of speed was understandable.
She finished typing out the new information on her own site, a few facts about a type of Bogeyman called Bloody Bones or Rawhead. She sighed, shaking her head slowly. Really how was it people could ignore all this stuff? The amount of legend and lore on monsters alone should have raised a few eyebrows about whether or not things were real. But then again it was said ignorance was bliss, so perhaps there was something to pretending monsters weren't real. Still, Kiturian felt it was better to know the truth. That way the monsters had less of an upper hand on you.
As the upload went through, she turned her attention to her email. She began rapidly checking the little boxes, wondering once again why the spam filter never seemed to work. She deleted the majority of the emails, before going through to see what sort of messages she had. Some were from penpals, casual acquaintances she kept in touch with. One however, was not from anyone she recognized, and she clicked it wondering what it could possibly be about.
The message was read a couple times. Sam and Dean...they were hunters, or at least Kiturian was pretty sure she'd heard the names mentioned before though she'd never met them. Still it was an interesting message, perhaps one worth taking note of. Pondering silently for several minutes, she sighed, pulling the silver chain from her throat and staring at the pendulum that hung at the end. "Is this message some sort of trap?" she asked keeping her gaze on the stone. For a moment it remained still, and then started swaying back and forth slowly. No. Kiturian smiled, glancing back to the message. "Well that's a good thing to know," she murmured to herself. "Hell, having a bit of a goal for a while could be a good thing." The pendulum stopped swaying as she spoke and began to twist slowly, to signify 'maybe'. "It wasn't a question," Kiturian said as she stared at the pendulum and grinned replacing the chain around her neck. Still, maybe wasn't a bad thing. Maybe meant a possibility, and she liked seeing what could come of possibilities.
A few final keys were tapped and the laptop shut down as Kit jumped down from the back of the truck to climb into the cab and start the vehicle. How things would go she wasn't sure, but it would be interesting, and perhaps if luck and fate were in good moods, something good would come of it all.
