So this thread is probably going to be one story from Aiden's past with Malcolm, but if anyone sees a chance to jump in as an NPC, feel free--writing by myself will get a little boring, and if people post and make me have to think of a way out, I like that way better (that was part of the reason I was so obsessed with the site at the beginning, because one person had the way out, and we had to figure it out.) But for the most part, I want to develop the relationship between Aiden and Malcolm, this is going to be at a later stage of their time together. Whether or not I'll need Jeff, I'm not sure yet. Disclaimer aside, let the thread begin.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Five years to the day of his parents' deaths, not to mention the fate of his grandfather. Five years into the life of hunting. And what was Aiden out doing? Taking Malcolm's muscle car for a joy ride.
With a smirk spread wide across his face, Aiden pushed on the gas pedal after changing gears, a fluid motion that he had gotten down just the previous year. The Mustang zoomed down the road, and it wasn't long before he was weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds. The city of Hunts Point, Washington didn't have a chance of stopping him as he came upon a curvy stretch of road.
With the rock music blaring in the car, he shifted and shot around the corner. The adrenaline pumping through his system only made the whole experience that much better, because Malcolm never let Aiden drive his car aside from when he was learning how to drive.
To be honest, Aiden wasn't even aware of the time at the moment, he stopped paying attention the previous week, when the hunt had taken literally all day and night for three days, and it all blurred together and he lost track. Glancing in the rear view to make sure that no cops were behind him, he flew down the next stretch of road.
From one of the streets, a car pulled out behind him, but he left it in the dust. It wasn't like Malcolm would even know, he was too busy off with some local hunter trying to kill a ruguru or something lame like that. He'd be back that night, and so would Aiden.
His phone vibrated in his pocket. He fumbled for it, and it continued vibrating--a call. "Crap," he said aloud as he finally pulled it out and flipped it open, looking at the caller.
"Aiden, where the hell is my car?"
"...What?" Aiden asked, playing dumb. "What do you mean where is your car?"
"Don't mistake me for an idiot, boy. I know my engine when I hear it, and as soon as you get back I'm going to break your--"
"Malcolm, wait wait wait! I just went to get food, the hotel didn't have anything, I swear."
"Guy at the front door said you haven't been here all day, that you left fifteen minutes after I did. So tell me, where you driving to get breakfast, because it better be damn good."
Malcolm was pissed, he could tell that he was holding half of it in. "I'm on the way back right now."
"Damn right you are! What the hell is your problem, do you think its funny to just leave with my car while I'm gone expecting nothing to happen?"
"That's not it, I--"
"I don't really care what you think right now, I want your ass back here."
Aiden slowed down, getting ready to turn around. With a glance in the rear view, he could see the car behind him slow...and then turn to follow him. His watched the car, and continued to watch it as it turned the corner he just did, down into a random neighborhood. He turned around, and so did the car. "Uh, Malcolm? I'm being followed."
He could hear his mentor curse on the other end and ask about eyes before hanging up. The radio in his car started to fritz out. "Electrical interference..." he mumbled before stepping on the gas, being careful not to pop the clutch and kill the car. He turned back onto the main road, and took off, trying to gain distance between himself and whatever was following him.
[[Someone feel free to come in and play the baddie if you want. If no one posts relatively soon, I'll just keep going with it.]]

(OOC: Joining in as baddie)
No. No. No. No. Yes! The car pass by, the drivers drive, but all are taking passengers. What was wrong with today’s society that everyone had friends? Friends just get in the way of a good time, plus they were just plain boring. He was his only true friend, for he trusted himself beyond all else. That’s why it excited him to see a kid all by himself drive by. Smacking his lips together, Tom set his car to drive and hurried on to catch the lonely Child.
Where was little loner going? This was fun, maybe Child would notice him? If he did, then that would just make the chase much more interesting. Oh how fun it was to sit all day, in order to find yourself within Joy’s reach. Tom couldn’t help but smile as he followed Child all this time, yet the smile was starting to disappear. The kid would not change speeds, it’s as if he wasn’t afraid of him. Everyone feared Tom O’Conner! Everyone! He would make Child fear him, and he would do so when he gets close enough, for there was a two car distance at this point. When Aiden slowed down, Tom was able to catch up and slowed down too.
Perfect, perfect, perfect! His car still running, Tom reached down and picked up a knife. It was rusty with blood, blood from the other children that didn’t fear him, just like Child. He was about to exit his car, but Aiden had rushed off. Tom laughed, the hunt was on!
“So Child, a race is what you want, so a race you will get!” Tom said to himself as he hurried to catch up with Aiden.
