It had been over a year since Jefferson stepped foot in Austin, and driving down the road to his hotel brought back memories. He wondered if his old faction was still up and running, and if they found a new leader. He doubted it though, seeing as he personally disbanded them all and cut off all ties with Casey (which was almost impossible to do, and he doubted Casey had given up on him). There was still that small chance that they all stayed at the hotel and were busy keeping Austin safe, but Jefferson really hoped this wasn't the case. He wasn't in the mood to see any of his old teammates, except for the dog, he liked the dog.
After five minutes of driving, Jefferson parked in front of his hotel. Walking up to it, his heart skipped a beat out of happiness. The door was close and the place was going to the dogs. This either meant that the place was deserted, or his ex-faction were slobs...and now that he thought about it, the latter seemed possible. Opening the door with his keys, Jefferson walked inside and headed for the front desk. Everything was still in place, it was as if he had never left, and he actually enjoyed it that way. Stretching a bit, Jefferson threw himself onto the chair on the other side of the desk and made himself comfortable.
"Hmm, I have time before the bastard shows up," Jefferson said to himself, while checking his watch, "I might as well keep myself busy for awhile." With these words, Jefferson flipped the switches behind him, turning on all the lights in the lobby. "I'm open for business...for now."

Whoever said walking never killed someone, obviously owned a car. Gabrielle finally found herself in some town in texas after walking for what seemed like forever. Normal people would have taken a bus, rented a car, bought a car, hell even took a ride from some stranger. But no. Walking was her primary mode of transportation. Either risk taking a ride with someone and something happening causing them to sustain harm, spend too much money on some car that could be traced, or rent a car get lost and run out of gas causing another waste of money. So walking it was, and whoever said walking never killed someone, her feet disagreed.
Shifting her faithful worn out blue duffle on her shoulder, she averted her green eyes to take in all around her. New town, new people, new possible threats. Oh the joys of the life of a hunter. As she walked down the street, she seemed very aware that people must have thought she was some runaway kid, even though she was far from a kid, being newly turned twenty-two.
Her red hair was slightly knotted, filth sticking to it from her travels, dirt no doubt smugged across various parts of her pale skin. She had on a navy blue tanktop that had a small tear line across the back; vampire beheading had a little bump in the road down in Kaidy Texas. Her shorts were old faded ones, and her not-so-white-anymore sneakers looked as if she had taken them from the trash, walking everyone took their tole.
Sighing, Gabrielle found herself trying to focus on the task at hand. Find a place to stay long enough to rest up and resupply. Now the question remained where?
It was a big town. But big towns didnt normally pose the problem of finding somewhere to sleep where it wouldnt draw attention. However it seemed it might actually be a problem.Walking along she eyed the possible places with disdain, seeing the eyes light up of people ready to rip you off, or try and sell your secrets. Then, she found herself infront of a place who well truthfully...looked like it wasnt in use anymore. The lights and car parked outfront however, told otherwise. No peeping people, quiet, not very attention worthy. Perfect. Walking up she tentatively tried to open the door, still not exactly sure if it was open. When it opened she stepped foot inside and closed the door securely behind her. She turned to where she assumed was the so called welcome desk and was about to say hello when she caught sight of him.
"Just my luck."

Jefferson had fallen asleep for the time being, and so far no one had shown up to stay at the hotel. He didn't blame them, his place was closed for a whole year, so he would be surprised if anyone actually walked through those doors. When he woke up though...no one was there. Sighing to himself, Jefferson turned on his computer and took to his old habit of looking up jobs. So far, nothing caught his attention. Had Austin really not seen any form of supernatural disaster since he left? It was about to seem that way until a certain article caught his attention.
Since a month ago, children were being kidnapped and by the looks of things, they had disappeared from the face of the Earth. There have been cases where kidnappings occur and they don't find the child until years later, but four children in under a month was a bit too much. Any other normal person would read the article, feel horrible about it, and then move on with their lives. Jefferson was far from normal though, so he printed out all the information he needed, looked at his watch (to make sure he still had time), and was ready to go on his way to investigate, when the door opened.
"Hey! Welcome to...oh shit, it's you. Did you follow me here? I really don't like it when people follow me, if you don't believe me, ask Ashton when you meet him." Jefferson sighed to himself, and sat back down. Today was going to be a long day.

Just. My. Luck. A wonderful greeting to someone she swore she had just seen a while back, oh wait she did. Funny enough, when he mentioned the following him business she couldnt help but give a quiet laugh remembering as she told her off about that last time. The joys of reunions.
She would rather undergo the torture of silence at one of those places with the peeping people than this, well actually no. Jefferson may push her buttons, very well, but he was a good man. A good man who hopefully had a place for her to crash, then she would be on her way.
"Look Jefferson, though you seem to disagree, I have no reason to be so obsessed with you to follow you already to bloody texas. Us running into each other, not my doing on purpose. I just need a place to crash for a little and I will be out of your hair. Cross my heart, I wont get in your business." Though that may have been a bit of a lie, she was just about as curious as a cat. She didnt know who Ashton was, if Jefferson was up to something, she might have to investigate such things for something to do. After all, she was a girl with nowhere in particular to go.
She walked up to the desk and casually leaned. "So, a room?"

Well, Gabrielle's arrival didn't mean he would have to change his plans. He could actually bring her along for the job, though she looked tired. Jefferson just smiled to himself, as he pulled out a key for a room. He was sure this room used to be Simplicity's...eh, he didn't know, it's been awhile, and he couldn't care. He held out the key for Gabrielle to take but then pulled it back.
Gabrielle was a good hunter, Jefferson gave her that, but that was just from one hunt they were on. Still, two hunters were better then one, and Jefferson had no idea what was going after the children. Whether he would like to admit it or not, he would need help, and as long as Gabrielle was here, he could use her help.
"Before I give you a room, I need payment for it. I don't want money, I need a favor. Help me out with a job, and the room is all yours. There won't be a better deal then this, plus I'll owe you one." Jefferson set the keys on the desk, and placed the information about the children right next to them. "Your choice Gabrielle, what's it going to be?" Jefferson leaned back on his chair, and crossed his arms, waiting for her response.

Gabrielle smiled to herself as she watched him pull out a key. Her feet loved him at the moment, a hot bubble bath and massage would have sent them to heaven but a bed to relax would do. Then he pulled them back and the smile disapeared, till she heard his offer.
Gabrielle had worked one case with Jefferson. One. The two could get along, but him offered it to her was unexpected to say the least. The inner cat in her however pushed her to learn more. What job got Jefferson to offer her a job with him AND a possible favor. Choices, choices...
Gabrielle reached forward and looked at him. Her green eyes searching him for any differences. Looked like the same Jefferson to her. Then she smiled and grabbed the infomation and key. "You know, I might just have to call a more personal favor than you had in mind. My feet are killing me from the walk, want to escort me to my room and give me a massage as I look over the infomation for our case. " She said it teasingly, joking with him. Though she wanted to be shown to her room, she had no intention of pushing a massage. That was personal. Jefferson... well wasnt.

Jefferson smiled to himself as Gabrielle grabbed the keys and the information. He got out of his chair, stretched a bit, and walked around the desk. He paced back and forth, thinking about the favor Gabrielle asked of him. He thought the favor was going to be a tough hunt she was on, or drive her to a certain place, but massaging her feet? He guess he could do that, but that seemed a bit too personal for him...eh, whatever.
"Fine, I'll give you a massage, though that's a weird favor to ask of me. Hell, I already have to deal with the constant emotional change people deal with every time I suffer a small relapse with this stupid ability. Listen, your room is outside, in the back, and on the first floor. The room number is 142, so let's head over there...unless you want me to carry you over there, but believe me, I'm already crossing the line with the whole massage thing."

Gabrielle laughed. It was nice he was willing to do that as a favor, and the carrying just made it a whole lot better. However, she would put no man through that.
"Jefferson, relax. I didn't actually mean you had to give me one, I was joking around. I'll save my favor for a rainy day perhaps." of course she didnt actually mean a literally rainy day.
Gabrielle shifted her bag slightly on her shoulder and smiled at him. "Lead the way."
